% 04.07.2025 1.
The present petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India read with 528 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023, ["BNSS"] (erstwhile Section 482 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973) has been filed seeking to quash the FIR 335/2024 dated 07.06.2024 for offences under Sections 498A/406/34 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860, registered at Police Station Jaitpur, Delhi ["subject FIR"] and all other proceedings emanating therefrom. 2.

dated 26.11.2024 drawn through the Counselling Cell, Family Courts1, Saket (South-East district), New Delhi. The said Settlement, embodying the terms of the settlement, has also been placed on record for the perusal of this Court.
3.
Pursuant to the aforestated Settlement, the present petition was filed.
4.
The Statement of Respondent No. 2 has been recorded by the learned Joint Registrar (Judicial) vide Order dated 21.03.2025. Respondent No.2 has also been duly identified by her counsel before the learned Registrar.
5.
In view of the foregoing, the learned counsels for the parties jointly prayed for quashing of the subject FIR. 6.
The learned Additional Standing Counsel appearing on behalf of the State, submits that there is no objection if the subject FIR and all consequential proceedings arising therefrom are quashed. 7.
In view of these circumstances, and in line with the law laid down by the Hon'ble Supreme Court in Gian Singh vs. State of Punjab & Anr. (2012) 10 SCC 303 as also in Narinder Singh & Ors. vs. State of Punjab & Anr. (2014) 6 SCC 466, this Court finds no reason as to why the subject FIR and subsequent proceedings emanating therefrom are quashed. In light of the Settlement arrived at between the consenting parties, continuing with the subject FIR and all subsequent proceedings would be a futile exercise and would not be conducive to peace and harmony between the parties. 8.
In conspectus of the above facts and the Settlement dated 26.11.2024, the subject FIR bearing No. 335/2024 dated 07.08.2024 for offences under Sections 498A/406/34 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860, registered at Police Station Jaitpur, Delhi and all other The authenticity of the order can be re-verified from Delhi High Court Order Portal by scanning the QR code shown above.
proceedings emanating therefrom, are hereby quashed. 9.
The present petition and pending application(s), if any, are, accordingly, disposed of in the aforesaid terms. HARISH VAIDYANATHAN SHANKAR, J.
