The petitioners have filed the present petition, inter alia, praying that directions be issued to respondent nos. 1 and 2 to provide protection to the petitioners from respondent nos. 4 to 7, who are family members of the brothers of Late Sh. Rakesh Ahuja (the husband of petitioner no.1 and father of petitioner no.2 and 3).

The petitioners allege that they were brutally assaulted in the office of the Sub-Registrar, Nand Nagri on 02.03.2020 and CCTV footage of the same is available. The petitioners pray that directions be issued to the police to take necessary action.

The petitioners also claim that they are residing in H. No. 148, Ground Floor, Ram Vihar, Delhi and respondent nos. 4 to 7 are also residing in the same building.

Insofar as the petitioner's grievance regarding them being brutally assaulted is concerned, this Court considers it apposite to direct the petitioners to appear before the concerned SHO (SHO, PS Nand Nagri). The concerned SHO shall examine the petitioner's complaint and take such action as is warranted in accordance with law. In the event he does not consider it necessary to register an FIR, the petitioners are at liberty to avail of alternate remedies.

Insofar as the prayer seeking directions for protection is concerned, the concerned SHO (SHO, PS Anand Vihar) is directed to provide the telephone numbers of the beat staff in order that the petitioners can contact them in case of any eventuality.
