Pursuant to the previous orders, Ms. Zubeda Begum, Standing Counsel for the NDMC, has appeared along with concerned officers in this regard, with respect to both the provision of potable water and toilets. 2.

As regards the toilets, the order in question dated 25th July 2023 has noted that there was a mobile toilet van which had to be cleaned and inspected.

In this regard, status report has been filed on behalf of Mr. Harkesh Meena, Executive Engineer (SD), as per which they have provided two toilet blocks with ID number as PTU 11-021 and PTU 11-022 by the NDMC in the adjoining area with separate blocks for gents and ladies in each of toilets. In total, 8 W.C.s each are therefore available in these blocks The authenticity of the order can be re-verified from Delhi High Court Order Portal by scanning the QR code shown above. for gents and ladies, respectively.

The status report additionally states, that they are constrained in expanding the facility due to lack of space.

For this purpose, it has been agreed that the officers shall meet with the Mr. Ravi, Pradhan of petitioner/Hastkala Sangathan Samiti, on 30th April 2025 at 11:00 AM at the site. Mr. Ravi is present in Court and confirms that he shall be part of the discussion and deliberations with the officers in order that suitable space can be identified. 6.

As regards the mobile toilet van, which was present on site in July 2023 when the order was passed, the same has been continued till 19th June 2024, as per the record, and then discontinued. 7.

It is stated by Ms. Zubeda Begum, on instructions, that for the time being, till further facilities can be provided, the mobile toilet will be resumed on site on or before 30th April 2025 and shall be kept duly cleaned and maintained.

The occupants of JJ Cluster shall, through the Samiti, be counselled to optimally utilise the mobile toilet facilities as well and to keep it clean. 9.

As regards provision of potable water, status report filed on behalf of Executive Engineer (W/S) which states that the water in the area is provided through common stand post/hydrant. At each hydrant, around 10 to 25 families cater for their daily water uses. A proposal has been prepared to provide individual water connection to each household under the AMRUT 2.0 Scheme. The said Hastkala Sangathan Samiti has also been considered in the said scheme of providing individual water connection. 10.

Accordingly, it is stated in the report that water connection in each household shall be provided through recently awarded work under AMRUT 2.0 Scheme, and will be commenced on or before 30th April 2025. 11.

Having recorded these undertakings on behalf of respondent, this Contempt Petition is disposed of.

If there is any further relief that petitioner seeks with respect to provision of potable water and toilets, they are at liberty to approach the Writ Court in this regard.

Liberty is also granted to the petitioner to get this petition revived, in case the undertakings given above are not complied with. 15.
