The petitioner has filed the present petition, inter alia, praying that the parole granted to the petitioner be extended for a period of one month from the date of his release.

The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that the word 'extension' is incorrectly mentioned in the prayer and the petitioner is seeking fresh parole to attend to his father. 3.

It is seen that the petitioner was released on parole on 18.09.2019 for a period of six weeks pursuant to the orders passed by this Court. However, prior to the date of surrender, he moved another application seeking a further extension of four weeks. It was partly allowed by an order dated 18.12.2019 and the parole granted to the petitioner was extended by a period of three weeks. Thus, the petitioner was on parole for a period of nine weeks, with

effect from, 18.11.2019. The petitioner surrendered on 21.01.2020. Thus, it is seen that not even seven weeks have elapsed since the petitioner has surrendered.

In the circumstances, this Court does not consider it apposite to allow the present petition. However, it will be open for the petitioner to make an application to the concerned authorities.

The concerned authorities are directed to consider such an application, if so, made uninfluenced by the order passed by this Court.
