This is a petition filed under Section 29A (4) & (5) of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 seeking extension of the mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal by a period of 6 months.

Since there were mediation proceedings going on, the arbitration proceedings took some time.

Ms. Jindal, learned counsel for the respondent accepts notice on behalf of the respondent and has no objection to the petition being allowed. For the reasons noted above, I am of the view that sufficient cause has been shown. The petition is allowed and the mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal is extended by a period of 6 months from today. The period from 15.01.2025 till today stands regularised.
