The present petition has been filed seeking direction to the respondent to release the petitioner on furlough for a period of three weeks. 2.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner had moved an application seeking grant of furlough as early as in the month of December, 2023 but till date no decision on the same has been taken. He submits that the petitioner has been in custody for ten years and he has applied for furlough as his daughter is of marriageable age and he needs to find a suitable groom for her.

Issue notice. Learned Standing Counsel for the State accepts notice. 4.

Considering the fact that the application has already been moved by the petitioner for grant of furlough and the same is pending consideration for The authenticity of the order can be re-verified from Delhi High Court Order Portal by scanning the QR code shown above. over a month, the DG(Prisons) is directed to dispose of the petitioner's applicant seeking furlough within a period of two weeks from today. 5.
