This is a petition filed under section 482 of the Cr.PC, 1973 seeking quashing the FIR No. 652/2007, dated 27.10.2007, registered at PS South Delhi under sections 341/385/506/452/34 of IPC, 1860 and all consequential proceedings emanating therefrom.

In the present case, the chargesheet has been filed under sections 341/385/506/452/34 of IPC, 1860 and the charges against the petitioner has been framed under sections 323/506(2)/120B of IPC, 1860. 3.
During the pendency of the proceedings, the parties have arrived at a settlement by executing a Memorandum of Understanding dated 13.01.2020, wherein the petitioner has tendered an apology to respondent No. 2 for his inadvertent acts. Further, the petitioner has also assured and has undertaken before this Court that he shall not repeat such actions in the future. 5.
Respondent No. 2 i.e. Sh. Himanshu Chaturvedi is present in court and has been identified by Investigating Officer (IO) SI Rakesh. 6.
Since the parties have arrived at a settlement and no disputes are pending, I am convinced that quashing of such proceedings on account of compromise would bring about peace and would secure ends of justice. The Court does not see any fruitful purpose if criminal proceedings are permitted to be prosecuted any further. It is a fit case for quashing. In this view of the matter, there is no reason to continue the proceedings. 7.
In this view of the matter, FIR No. 652/2007, dated 27.10.2007, registered at PS South Delhi under sections 341/385/506/452/34 of IPC, 1860 and all consequential proceedings emanating therefrom are hereby quashed.

Respondent No. 2 also submits that Mr. S.K. Sarkar has filed a defamation suit against the respondent No. 2. 9.
Nothing stated in the present order shall have any bearing on the merits of the suit pending between the respondent No. 2 and Mr. S.K. Sarkar.

The present petition, along with pending applications, if any is disposed of.
