This is a petition under Section 29A of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 seeking extension of time for completion of arbitration proceedings and rendering of the arbitral award. 2.
Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that upon disputes having arisen between the parties, the learned Arbitrator entered upon reference on 15.07.2017 and even though the parties have been diligently participating in the proceedings, the same have yet not concluded. She further submits that time extended by this Court vide its order dated 26.06.2019 passed in OMP(MISC.)(COMM.) 257/2019 already stands expired on 31.12.2019 and therefore, prays that the same be extended for a period of eight months reckoned from 01.01.2020.

respondent accepts notice and does not oppose the petition. 4.
Keeping in view the fact that much time and labour has already been invested in the proceedings, the time for completion of arbitration proceedings and rendering of award is extended for a period of eight months reckoned from 01.01.2020. The mandate of the learned Arbitrator is thus extended till 31.08.2020. 5.
The petition along with the pending applications are disposed of in the aforesaid terms.
