The Petitioner has approached this Court with the following prayers:- "a) Issue a writ of or in the nature of mandamus or any other appropriate writ, order or direction directing the Respondents to expeditiously consider Petitioner's application bearing no. 2021/0CI/0001329 dated 25-5-2021 and grant registration as Overseas Citizen of India by the Petitioner under section 7 A(1) of the Citizenship Act, 1955;

b) Issue a writ of or in the nature of Certiorari or any other writ, order or direction calling for the records of the Petitioner's case;

c) Any other order that this Hon'ble Court may deem fit and proper in the facts and circumstances of the case." On 23.01.2024, this Court was informed that the documents and the details which were sought from the Petitioner's father were yet to be received.

Learned Counsel for the Respondent states that a decision has been taken and the Petitioner's application for registration for grant of Overseas Citizen of India has been accepted and only consequential steps are to be taken. The statement is taken on record.

Since the grievance of the Petitioner no longer survives, the petition is disposed of along with pending application(s), if any. 5.

It is always open for the Petitioner to approach this Court if need so arises in future.
