O.M.P.(MISC.)(COMM.) 99/2020 1.

This is a petition filed under Section 29A(4) of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 seeking extension of time for completion of arbitration proceedings and rendering of the arbitral award. 2.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that upon disputes having arisen between the parties in respect of the sale agreements, the parties were referred to arbitration by an order passed by this Court on 09.02.2018. Despite the parties diligently participating in the arbitration proceedings, the same have yet not been concluded and in the meanwhile, the mandate of the Arbitrator has since expired on 17.08.2019, which fact the parties have realised only recently after the learned Arbitrator pointed out the same. He, therefore, prays that the mandate of the learned Arbitrator be suitably extended. DigitallySigned By:MANJU BHATT 16:25:05

3.

Issue notice. Learned counsel for the respondent accepts notice and does not oppose the said prayer.

4.

Keeping in view the fact that much time and labour has already been invested in the proceedings, the time for completion of arbitration proceedings and rendering of award is extended till 30.09.2020 reckoned from 18.08.2019.

5.

The petition is disposed of in the aforesaid terms. REKHA PALLI, J MARCH 13, 2020/sr DigitallySigned By:MANJU BHATT 16:25:05
