These writ petitions are filed by the petitioners seeking appropriate directions to the respondents to process and decide the applications submitted by the petitioners for grant of recognition of the respective courses in a time bound manner as per the procedure and schedule fixed by

the Supreme Court in terms of the judgment dated 13.12.2012 passed in the matter of Maa Vaishno Devi Mahila Mahavidyalaya Vs. State of Uttar Pradesh and Ors., 2013(2) SCC 617.

The case of the petitioners is that they have applied for recognition of the respective courses and the matter has been languishing before the respondents.

Learned counsel for the petitioners vehemently urges that as per the judgment of the Supreme Court, the last date for grant of recognition by the respondents is 03.03.2021. He states that the petitioners having waited so long and having invested so much in the infrastructure would lilce to commence functioning for the academic year 2021-22. The same is possible only in case the respondents take appropriate steps as per law and grant recognition much before 03.03.2021.

Learned counsel for the respondents assures that appropriate expeditious steps shall be taken.

Let the respondents deal with the applications of the petitioners as per law expeditiously preferably within 10 weeks from today. Appropriate orders/communications, if any clarification/documents are required shall be r sent forthwith to the petitioners to enable the respondents to expeditiously process the applications.
