1. The hearing was conducted through video conferencing.

2. The Status Report dated 13.07.2020 filed by the State verifies the medical condition of the petitioner, as noted on the previous date, as under:

"..... 4. The petitioner is on parole since the year 2013. He seeks extension of the same. He is stated to be terminally ill and is suffering from chronic kidney disease stage-V (end stage renal failure) with cardiac and other complications. He is on dialysis support which is conducted thrice a week and each process extends to a period of 4-5 hours. He is stated to be in extremely weak condition to surrender before the Jail Authorities and he would require to be all-the-more cautious about his risk to his health especially in the present pandemic situation. The petitioner's medical condition is compelling.

5. Mr. Rajesh Mahajan, the learned Additional Standing Counsel for the State submits that the medical condition of the petitioner needs to be ascertained/ verified. He seeks

and is permitted to file a Status Report before the next date. Till then, the parole of the petitioner stands extended on the same terms and conditions..."

3. In these circumstances, the petitioner's parole is extended for a further period of one year in terms of the similar extension granted vide order dated 26.03.2019. This order has been passed in the special facts and circumstances of the case, since the petitioner has been on parole for the last seven years as he has been declared terminally ill.

4. The application stands disposed off in the above terms.
