By way of present petition, the petitioners seek quashing of FIR bearing no. 1108/2021, registered at Police Station Bara Hindu Rao, Delhi for the offences punishable under Sections 285/337/304-A of the Indian Penal Code, 1860 (hereafter 'IPC').

The petitioners and respondent no. 2 are present before this Court through. They have been identified by their counsels and concerned Investigating Officer (IO) from Police Station Bara Hindu Rao, Delhi. 3.
At the outset, this Court, vide order dated 25.10.2024 had exempted the presence of respondent nos. 2, 3, 6, 7 and 8. On the last date of hearing, The authenticity of the order can be re-verified from Delhi High Court Order Portal by scanning the QR code shown above.
an additional amount of Rs.1,00,000/- was directed to be paid to respondent no.2. The said amount has been paid by the petitioners to respondent no.2 in Court today.

Briefly stated, facts of the present case are that on 23.04.2021, a fire incident had occurred at the complainant's rented premises. Due to the said incident, the husband of respondent no. 2 had unfortunately expired on 03.05.2021. Based on the aforesaid event, the present FIR was registered on 08.05.2021 under the relevant sections.

It is stated that both the parties have amicably settled the present matter vide Memorandum of Settlement, dated 18.02.2022, entered between them.

On a query made by this Court, respondent no.2 who has been identified by the concerned IO, has categorically stated that she has entered into compromise out of her own free will and without any pressure, coercion or threat. It is also stated by respondent no. 2 that the entire dispute has been amicably settled between the parties. Respondent no. 2 further states that she has no objection if the present FIR is quashed. 7.
In view of the above fact that the parties have amicably resolved their differences of their own free will, without any coercion and no useful purpose will be served by continuing the proceedings, rather the same would create further acrimony between them. It would thus be in interest of justice to quash the abovementioned FIR and the proceedings pursuant thereto. There is no legal impediment in quashing the FIR in question. 8.
Accordingly, FIR bearing No. 1108/2021, registered at Police Station Bara Hindu Rao, Delhi for the offences punishable under Sections 285/337/304-A of IPC and all consequential proceedings emanating The authenticity of the order can be re-verified from Delhi High Court Order Portal by scanning the QR code shown above.
therefrom are quashed.
