O R D E R

The present proceedings are instituted seeking quashing of FIR No. 280/2017 registered under Sections 498A/406/34 IPC at P.S. Moti Nagar, Delhi on the ground that the parties have settled their disputes. 2.

Mr.Amit Ahlawat, learned APP for the State, submits that the charge sheet in the present case has been filed under the aforesaid sections against total 4 accused persons and respondent No. 2 is the only complainant/victim. 3.

Learned counsels for the parties submit that the parties have amicably settled their disputes. In terms of the settlement, the parties have already been granted divorce by mutual consent. It was further agreed that a sum of Rs.21,00,000/- shall be paid by the petitioners to respondent No. 2 towards her claims qua maintenance, streedhan, alimony, etc. Out of the said settled

amount of Rs.21,00,000/-, a sum of Rs.14,00,000/- has already been paid to respondent No. 2 and the remaining amount of Rs.7,00,000/- has been paid to her by the petitioners today, which has been duly received and acknowledged by respondent No.2. In terms of the settlement, respondent No. 2 is now left with no claim or grievance whatsoever against the petitioners.

The petitioner No.1 has joined the proceedings along with his counsel through the VC link and has been identified by his counsel as well as by the Investigating Officer. Respondent No.2/complainant has also joined the proceedings through the VC link and has also been identified by her counsel and by the Investigating Officer.

Respondent No.2, who is present in person, states that she has entered into the settlement agreement with the petitioners out of her own free will, volition and without any coercion. She further states that she has no objection if the present FIR and consequent proceedings are quashed. 6.

Learned counsels for the parties submit that no other proceedings are pending between the parties.

The parties are bound by the statements made today. 8.

In view of the above facts and since no useful purpose will be served in continuance of the proceedings, it is directed that the aforesaid FIR and the consequent proceedings arising therefrom are hereby quashed. 9.
