This application is preferred on behalf of the Petitioner under Section 29A (5) of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 ('1996 Act') seeking extension of mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal by six months for making the final arbitral award.

Learned counsel for Respondent No. 2 submits that while he has no objection to the extension of the mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal, however, Petitioner should be directed not to take unnecessary adjournments and prolong the proceedings by filing additional documents from time to time. Responding to this submission, learned counsel for the Petitioner assures the Court that Petitioner will not take unnecessary adjournments and proceed with final arguments on the date fixed by the Arbitral Tribunal. Considering that the arbitration proceedings are at the stage of final arguments, with the consent of the parties, mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal is extended by a period of four months from today for completion of the arbitral proceedings and passing of the final arbitral award and period between 07.03.2025 to 16.04.2025 is regularized. 4.
Application is allowed and disposed of in the aforesaid terms.
