% 22.04.2020 This hearing has been held by video conferencing. The present petition has been moved under Section 29A(4) and (5) of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 seeking extension of the mandate of the ld. Sole Arbitrator for a further period of one year effective 1st April, 2020. Ld. counsel for the Petitioner submits that the Sole Arbitrator had entered reference on 9th October, 2018, and parties had mutually agreed to extend the mandate of the Arbitrator by a period of six months. One witness has already been examined. Three more witnesses are to be examined and thereafter final arguments are to be conducted before the ld. Arbitrator. Ms. Geetanjali Mohan, ld. counsel submits that she has no objection if the extension is granted for a further period of one year. In view of the facts pleaded as also in view of the lockdown period, during which no proceedings could be held as also considering the stage of the proceedings, the mandate of the Sole Arbitrator - Justice (Retd.) D.K.

Jain is extended by a further period of one year which shall terminate w.e.f. 31st March, 2021. The petition is disposed of in these terms. PRATHIBA M. SINGH, J.
