% 01.05.2020 (Video Conference Hearing) CRL. M.A. 6024/2020 & W.P. (CRL) 782/2020 By the instant petition, the petitioner, in effect, seeks to be released on parole in view of the outbreak of Covid-19 pandemic inasmuch as he is stated to be suffering from serious ailments. In the considered view of the Court, the subject matter requires to be considered by the Competent Authority in the first instance. In view thereof, Ms. Yadav, ld. counsel for the petitioner submits that the instant writ petition may be treated as an application/representation of the petitioner to be disposed of by the Competent Authority on its own merits in a time bound manner. Mr. Mahajan, ld. Additional Standing Counsel for the State on his part comes forward to state that the instant petition shall be so

considered and will be disposed of on its own merits within three weeks from today.

Taking into account the totality of facts and circumstances and the statements that have come to be made by the ld. counsel for the parties, the instant petition is disposed of with a direction to the Competent Authority to treat the instant writ petition as an application/representation of the petitioner and dispose it off within 15 days from today. The decision taken shall be communicated to the petitioner forthwith.
