After some arguments, learned counsel for the petitioner submits that in case directions are issued for expeditious recording of the prosecution evidence, he shall not press this application at this stage. 2.

In view of the fact that petitioner has been in custody for over 7 years and now only formal/official witnesses are remaining to be examined, Trial Court is directed to expedite the recording of the prosecution witnesses and endeavour to conclude the same within a period of four months from the next date of hearing before the Trial Court.

In view of the above directions, learned counsel for the petitioner seeks leave to withdraw the petition.

Petition is, accordingly, dismissed as withdrawn with the aforesaid directions.
