This hearing has been held by video conferencing. 2.
This petition has been filed by the petitioner claiming a direction to the respondent to release the pension and post-retirement benefits.

Admittedly, the petitioner was employed with the Delhi Cantonment Board as Safaiwala with effect from 24.03.1983 and retired from the post of Conservancy Jamadar on 30.11.2018. During his employment, he was allotted a residential accommodation by the respondent being Quarter bearing No.V-117/6, Old Nangal, Delhi Cantt. Due to the petitioner's failure to vacate the said premises, the respondent withheld the release of all post-retirement benefits to the petitioner.

The petitioner filed the present petition claiming that the said quarter was not in possession of the petitioner.

Today, the learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner has vacated the said quarter and is ready to hand over the possession of the same to the concerned authority. 6.
On the other hand, the learned counsel for the respondent submits that the factum of vacation of the quarter has to be duly verified.

In view of the above, it is directed that the respondent shall carry out an inspection of the said quarter to verify the factum of its vacation by the petitioner. Such inspection be carried out within two weeks from today with an advance notice to the petitioner, which may be served on the petitioner through his counsel as well. 8.
On such inspection, the claim of the petitioner for the retirement benefits shall be considered by the respondent in accordance with law and a decision thereon shall be communicated to the petitioner within four weeks thereafter.

The petition as well as the pending application are disposed of with the above directions.
