O R D E R
% 18.12.2025 1.
Through the present Appeal, the Appellant assails the correctness of the order dated 09.02.2022 passed by the learned Judge, Family Court, Dwarka, New Delhi in HMA No.2577/2018 captioned Ankit Sood vs. Binny Walia.
2.
The Appellant works as a Regional Manager at HDFC Bank, however, it has been alleged by the learned counsel representing the Respondent that the Appellant is working as a Zonal Manager at HDFC Bank.
3.
It is stated that the Appellant-Husband draws a monthly salary of ₹2,00,000/-. The Family Court had directed the Appellant to pay the maintenance @ ₹25,000/- each to his wife and child, total amounting to ₹50,000/-.
4.
Learned counsel representing the Appellant contends that the Respondent-Wife has a corpus of ₹1,00,00,000/- (Approx.) and she must be generating good returns from the same. 5.
This Court has considered the submissions and observes that, although the Respondent may be earning returns from the corpus, she is also bearing the responsibility of taking care of the child. Therefore, even after payment of ₹50,000/- by the Appellant, he would still be left with ₹1,50,000/- for his sustenance.
6.
Moreover, the Family Court has only granted her maintenance, which is 1/8th of the Appellant's salary.
7.
Hence, the present Appeal, along with pending application, stand dismissed.
