The applicant seeks extension of the interim bail, granted by this Court, vide order, dated 22nd April, 2020, in Crl. M.As. 582122/2020 in Bail Application 778/2020. CRL.M.C 1472/2020 Page 1 of 3

Interim bail was granted, by this Court, on 22nd April, 2020, given the peculiar situation arising out of the lockdown imposed by the Government, consequent to the COVID-2019 pandemic as well as keeping in mind the fact that the son of the applicant was in the 12th standard and applicant's young wife was suffering from osteoporosis and depression.

FIR 61/2019, registered against the applicant, alleges commission of offences by him, under Sections 21, 25 and 29 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985. The applicant has been in custody since 14th March, 2019.

The applicant's conduct, during the period of his incarceration, as well as consequent to his release on interim bail, as has been stated, by Mr. Amit Ahlawat, learned APP, to have been satisfactory. There is no report of the applicant having misused the facility of bail granted to him.

In the circumstances, given the fact that lockdown imposed by the Government, stands extended presently till 17th May, 2020, and as it is not possible to predict, as of now, the situation that would exist thereafter, and given the present status of the COVID-2019 pandemic, the interim bail, granted to the applicant, is extended by a period of four weeks. The petitioner is directed to surrender on 8th June, 2020. 6.
The conditions stipulated in para 8 of the order, dated 22nd April, 2020 supra, passed by this Court shall continue to operate. CRL.M.C 1472/2020 Page 2 of 3

The petition stands allowed in the aforesaid terms and to the aforesaid extent.

In view of the circumstances, the applicant need not surrender today. Mr. Ahlawat, learned APP, is directed to apprise the Superintendent of the Jail about this order.

Copy of this order shall be uploaded on the website positively within 24 hours and also forwarded to the counsel for the parties via email.
