The present petition has been filed by the Petitioner-Mr. Randheer Singh under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, inter alia, seeking issuance of an appropriate writ to set aside the seizure of goods seized by the Customs Department vide Detention Receipt No. DR/INDEL4/07-122023/003265 dated 07th December, 2023. 3.

The case of the Petitioner that he is an Indian citizen, who arrived in Delhi from Bangkok on 7nd December, 2023 by flight no. TG-331. He was wearing a gold metal bangle of 61 grams when he arrived at the IGI Airport, New Delhi. The Petitioner was intercepted by the officials of Customs Department and the said gold bangle was seized. 4.

The Petitioner submits that no show cause notice has been issued till date. This fact is not disputed by ld. Counsel for the Department. 5.

Considering the quantum of the gold, the fact that the Petitioner was wearing the said gold bangle and that no show cause notice has been issued, The authenticity of the order can be re-verified from Delhi High Court Order Portal by scanning the QR code shown above. the detention is set aside.

Let the gold bangle be released to the Petitioner within a period of four weeks, subject to verification. Storage charges are waived. 7.
