This petition is filed by the petitioner under Section 29A of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 seeking extension of time for making of the award.

None has appeared for the respondents.

Learned counsel for the petitioner has drawn my attention to the order of this court dated 07.05.2019 passed in OMP (Misc.) (Comm.) 48/2019 whereby this court had proceeded ex-parte against the respondents and allowed the petition under Section 29A of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 extending the time for making of the award by a period of six months from the date of receipt of the copy of the order by the learned Arbitral Tribunal.

Learned counsel for the petitioner further states that even before the learned Arbitral Tribunal, none is appearing for the respondents.

Keeping in view the facts and circumstances of this case, the present petition is allowed.

The period for completion of the proceedings/passing of the award is extended by a further period of four months with effect from the date the leaned Arbitral Tribunal receipts the copy of the order.
