This writ petition has been preferred on behalf of the Petitioners seeking the following relief:- "a. Issue a writ of mandamus or any other writ or directions, thereby directing respondents No.1 to provide adequate protection to the petitioners for their life as guaranteed under Constitution of India and further direct the respondents No.3 to save the petitioner's lives from the clutches of respondents No. 2 and take necessary action against them." 2.

Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the Petitioners submits that Petitioners have known each other for over 10 years and in the year 2022 decided to get married. However, there was resistance from the father of Petitioner No. 1 and threats were extended to the Petitioners that if they got married, dire consequences will follow. Despite efforts of the Petitioners to convince their families, they did not agree to solemnize the marriage and having no option, both got married on 27.07.2022 under the Special Marriage Act, 1954. the petition. However, Petitioners continued to receive threats from the family members of Petitioner No. 1 and fearing for their life made a complaint to the Police station for protection on 20.03.2024 and have now approached this Court seeking protective measures. 3.

Issue notice.

Learned Additional Standing Counsel accepts notice on behalf of the State and submits that mobile number of the Beat Constable of the concerned shall be furnished to the Petitioners during the course of the day, on which they may contact in case any help or assistance required. 5.

This petition is accordingly disposed of directing the Beat Constable of the area, in which the Petitioners reside, to provide his mobile number to the Petitioners during the course of the day and it will be open to the Petitioners to contact the Beat Constable, in case any assistance is required. Needless to state on any help being sought, Beat Constable will act promptly and render necessary help.
