The petitioner has filed the present petition, inter alia, praying as under:- "a) Allow the present petition and grant parole to the petitioner for a period of 2 months in FIR No. 243/2007 U/s 302/201 IPC, P.S. Hari Nagar, Fir No. 279/2007 U/s 302/201 IPC, P.S. Hari Nagar, Fir No. 609/2006, U/s 302/201 IPC, P.S. Hari Nagar or for any other period that the Hon'ble Court deems fit and proper."

The petitioner claims that his wife had sent an email to the Jail Superintendent, Central Jail No.2, Tihar on 30.04.2020 seeking that emergency parole be granted to her husband. She received a response dated 02.05.2020 informing her that the petitioner's case was sent to the

competent authority for consideration. The petitioner states that thereafter no communication has been received from the concerned authorities. 3.

In view of the above, this Court considers it apposite to direct the concerned authorities to consider the said application for grant of emergency parole or regular parole, as expeditiously as possible and in any event within a period of one week from today. It is so directed. The concerned authority shall also communicate its decision to the petitioner. 4.
