The petitioner has filed the present petition, inter alia, praying as under:- "a) allow the writ petition of the petitioner and grant the Parole for a period of 8 weeks in case FIR No.80/2010 PS Saraswati Vihar to enable him to arrange finances for his family and to take care of his old aged ailing mother."

The petitioner was convicted of an offence under Section 302 of the IPC and by an order dated 21.08.2012 was sentenced to life imprisonment. The petitioner's appeal (Appeal No.1462/2019) against his conviction and the order of sentence, was dismissed by this Court on 07.08.2019. 3.

The petitioner claims that he had filed an application seeking his release on parole in October, 2019. However, the concerned authorities have not communicated their decision with regard to his application. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner also submits that he has no

details of the said application as the same was sent through jail authorities. 4.

In view of the above, this Court considers it apposite to direct the concerned authorities to consider the petitioner's application for parole and communicate its decision within a period of two weeks from today. In the event, the petitioner's application for parole cannot be located the concerned authorities shall consider the averments made in the present petition as his application for parole and communicate its decision within two weeks from today as directed.
