Counsel for respondent states on instructions that they are unable to pay Rs. 8 lacs which was to be paid at the time of quashing of the FIR No. 277/2017 registered at PS Farsh Bazar under Sections 98A/406/34 of the Indian Penal Code 1860 ('IPC'), as per the settlement arrived at between the parties on 19th July 2019.

The divorce decree has already been obtained by order dated 22nd February 2020.

Quashing of the FIR was the last stage, as per the settlement. However, since respondent has chosen not to pay, therefore, proceedings emanating from the FIR shall continue. The Trial Court will proceed unimpeded by this aspect.
