% 25.07.2024 1.

There has been no appearance on behalf of the Petitioner on 3rd February, 2023, 2nd July, 2023, 1st August, 2023, 19th December, 2023 and 5th March, 2024. The position remains the same even today. Accordingly, with the assistance of the counsel representing Union of India, the Court has perused the material placed on record.

2.

Petitioners No. 1 and 2 have filed the instant petition seeking directions for disbursal of award money under "Scheme of Cash Awards to Medal Winners in International Sports Events and Their Coaches"1, launched by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Union of India. 1 "the Scheme"

Petitioner No. 1 has claimed award on the basis of the medals he has won in various events, details whereof have been delineated in Paragraph No. 5 of the petition. On the other hand, Petitioner No. 2, stated to be the coach of Petitioner No. 1, claims cash award as per Clause 2.1 (i) of the scheme. 3.

Union of India has filed a counter affidavit as well as the additional counter affidavit. They contend that an amount of INR 17,50,000/- was paid earlier to Petitioner No. 1, and in terms of the additional counter affidavit, a further amount of INR 1,25,000 also stands paid. Petitioner No. 2 has not been found entitled to the cash award on the basis of the verification report submitted by Sports Authority of India (SAI). 4.

In light of the above, considering the Petitioners' apparent lack of interest in further prosecuting the present matter, the Court is of the opinion that no further directions are required to be passed. 5.

Accordingly, the petition is dismissed in default for non-prosecution. SANJEEV NARULA, J JULY 25, 2024 sapna The authenticity of the order can be re-verified from Delhi High Court Order Portal by scanning the QR code shown above. The Order is downloaded from the DHC Server on 03/07/2025 at 21:35:00
