O R D E R

The petitioner has filed the present application seeking extension of interim bail that was granted by the order dated 20.03.2020. The petitioner had submitted a medical report which included an MRI indicating that it was suggestive of "lumbosacral transitional vertebra with disco degenerative changes most marked at L4-L5 level". The petitioner had further submitted that he was suffering from back ache and was facing difficulties in performing his daily activities. Considering the above, the petitioner was granted interim bail for a period of four weeks from the said date on certain terms and conditions.

The petitioner sought extension of the interim bail, which was granted by an order dated 09.04.2020 passed in Bail Application 660/2020. The interim bail granted to the petitioner was extended for a further period of six weeks.

The petitioner now seeks further extension as he has been unable to secure the medical treatment as required.

In view of the above, this Court considers it apposite to allow the present petition and extend the petitioner's interim bail for a period of fortyfive days from today. However, it is clarified that the interim bail will not be extended any further and the petitioner shall surrender on or before expiry of the said period. This order is subject to the same terms and conditions as specified in the order dated 20.03.2020.
