The petitioner has filed the present petition, inter alia, praying for bail/interim bail in FIR No. 648/2018 under Section 302/34 of the IPC registered with Police Station Shalimar Bagh. 4.

At the outset, the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner states that the present petition be considered as limited to seeking extension of interim bail that was granted by the order dated 22.05.2020. 5.

The petitioner was granted interim bail for a period of one week by an order dated 22.05.2020 on the ground that he was required to perform the last rites of his grandfather who has expired on 12.05.2020. 6.

The petitioner states that his parents have tested positive for Covid-19

and his two unmarried sisters, living with them have also been tested for Covid-19 but the results are not available as yet. The learned counsel for the petitioner states that the petitioner is currently quarantined and is required to take care of his parents and sisters.

In view of the mitigating circumstances, the interim bail as granted by the order dated 22.05.2020 is extended for a further period of four weeks from today. This is on the same terms as specified in the order dated 22.05.2020.

The petitioner shall surrender on or before 27.06.2020. 9.

The petition is allowed in the aforesaid terms. 10.

A copy of this order be served electronically to the concerned jail authorities.
