Cont. Cas.(C) 271/2020 The present contempt petition has been listed before this Bench by the Registry in view of the urgency expressed therein. The matter has been heard by way of video conferencing. Present contempt petition has been filed under Sections 11 and 12 of the Contempt of Courts Act, 1971, on behalf of the petitioner against the contemnors-respondents alleging wilful disobedience of the order dated 17th January, 2020 passed by the Division Bench of this Court in W.P.(C)
No.8245/2019 whereby the Court directed the respondents-contemnors to forthwith refund the amount seized during the search proceedings along with interest in accordance with law.
In the present petition, it has been averred that in pursuance to the order dated 17th January, 2020, the respondents-contemnors had refunded the principal amount of Rs.30,69,926/- on 27th February, 2020. Today, learned counsel for petitioner states that interest amount has been refunded by the respondents-contemnors vide voucher No.ITC/Aq/053952 dated 02nd June, 2020 for Rs.23,17,794/-.
However, learned counsel for petitioner states that the computation sheet should be supplied indicating as to how the interest amount has been calculated.
Mr. Zoheb Hossain, learned senior Standing counsel for respondentscontemnors states that the computation sheet shall be provided to the petitioner within one week.
Keeping in view the aforesaid, the present contempt petition is disposed of as satisfied.
Registry is directed to list W.P.(C) No.8245/2019 pending between the same parties on 15th June, 2020.
