% 24.01.2018 Respondent No. 2 Ms. Floreena Johan is present in Court and has been identified by SI Chander Shekhar of police station Hazrat Nizammuddin. Respondent No. 2 says she has settled the matter with the petitioner of her own free will, voluntarily and without any undue force, pressure or coercion before the Mediation Centre, Saket Courts New Delhi on 20.02.2017. Respondent No. 2 says that her marriage with petitioner has been dissolved by a decree of divorce by mutual consent dated 22.07.2017 passed by the Family Court, South-East District, Saket. Respondent No. 2 submits that she has received the entire settled amount and has no objection in case FIR is quashed. Affidavit of respondent No. 2 to this effect is also on record. Keeping in mind the settlement arrived at between the parties and that marriage between the petitioner no. 1 and respondent no. 2 has already been dissolved, no fruitful purpose would be served to

keep the criminal proceedings pending.

Accordingly, FIR No.

164/2012 under Sections 498-A/406/34 IPC registered at Police Station Hazrat Nizammuddin and the consequent proceedings emanating therefrom are quashed.

Petition is disposed of in the above terms.
