The petition is, primarily, for directions to the Superintendent, Central Jail No. 6, Tihar Jail, Delhi to ensure that rules relating to the food and maintenance of the prisoners under the Delhi Prison Rules, 2018 are complied with.

This Court, vide order dated 11.05.2023, constituted an inspection committee to carry out surprise inspections in the jail, with respect to the food being provided to the inmates and to submit a report. 3.

Mr. Adit Pujari, Advocate, one of the members of the Inspection Committee submits that the report has been finalized. Let the same be sent by the Registry to the Committee which is constituted for inspection of the Tihar Jail under the aegis of the High Court on the Administrative Side. The same shall be looked into and considered. Thereafter, appropriate directions may be issued.

Since the petitioners have already been discharged from jail, as of now, they do not have any personal grievance against the respondent. However, the aspects highlighted in the report and issues highlighted in the petition may be looked into by the Committee. 5.
