O R D E R

The present petition has been filed by the petitioner seeking that the respondents be directed to correct his name in the Khatauni records pertaining to Khata No.65, Village Ujwa, Delhi (hereinafter referred as "the subject property").

It is submitted by the learned counsel on behalf of the petitioner that the petitioner is the owner of subject property admeasuring 13.67 Biswas and has been in possession of the said property since birth (the property being ancestral in nature). It is stated that the petitioner is the bhumidar of the said property.

It is submitted that the petitioner's correct name is Sh. Karan Singh, S/o Late Sh. Sher Singh.

It is averred in the petition that in the year 2016 when the petitioner has sought to inspect the revenue records and obtain a certified copy of his Khatauni pertaining to the subject property, it came to the knowledge of the petitioner that his name has been erroneously recorded as Sh. Bhojraj, S/o of The authenticity of the order can be re-verified from Delhi High Court Order Portal by scanning the QR code shown above. late Sh. Sher Singh. Pursuant thereto, an application dated 12.08.2016, for necessary corrections in the revenue records was filed by the petitioner before the Tehsildar, tehsil Najafgarh, South West Delhi (hereinafter referred as "the Tehsildar"). In 2017, since no action on the aforesaid application had taken place, the petitioner submitted another application dated 30.08.2017 before the Tehsildar followed by representation/s before the concerned authorities. It is further stated the petitioner also obtained a Gazette Notification dated 15.04.2017, officially declaring correction of his name.

In the circumstances, the present petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondents to decide the aforesaid application(s)/ representation of the petitioner and if so warranted, take necessary steps to correct the name of the petitioner in the Khatauni record by replacing the name 'Sh. Bhojraj S/o Late Sh. Sher Singh' to 'Sh. Karan Singh S/o Late Sh. Sher Singh'. Let the same be done within a period of 8 weeks. 6.
