This matter is being taken up today as 14th April 2025 was declared a Court Holiday.

A compliance affidavit has been filed on 20th May 2024, as per which the compliance has been done by the respondents of notional increment, the fixation of pension and disbursal of arrears. 3.
However, since the arrears were disbursed after six weeks of the order dated 17th January 2023, counsel for the petitioner states, that the interest is also payable as per para 2 of the said order, which is extracted as under: "2. In view of above, we hereby dispose of the present petition with the direction to the respondents to grant the notional increment to the petitioners w.e.f. 01st July of their respective years of the retirement. the petitioners will consequently be re-fixed. The appropriate orders shall be issued and arrears of pensions will be paid to the petitioners within a period of six weeks, failing which, the respondents shall be liable to simple interest @ 6% per annum on the arrears of the period of delay."

Accordingly, counsel for respondent, shall take instructions and calculate the interest, which will be applicable, and file a compliance affidavit relating to the payment of interest. 5.
