Allowed, subject to all just exceptions.

BAIL APPLN. 1173/2020 2.

After some arguments, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner seeks to withdraw the present petition. He, however, prays that in view of the COVID-19, the petitioner not be arrested for a period of two weeks. He states that his minor child and his wife are under self quarantine and he requires to look after them. He states that this is so because of her maternal aunt (bua) has succumbed to COVID-19; several of his family members have tested positive and are currently in self quarantine.

In view of the above, the petition is dismissed as withdrawn. However, in view of the above, it is directed that the petitioner shall not be arrested for a period of two weeks. This is subject to the condition that the petitioner confines himself to his residence except for procuring essential services. Subject to maintaining necessary protection, the concerned authorities are at liberty to investigate and interrogate the petitioner at his residence during the aforesaid period.
