By this application, the Union of India seeks extension of time of eight weeks for compliance with the order dated 27 January 2025. 2.

For the reasons stated in the application, the request is granted. Though Mr. Jivesh Kr. Tiwari, who appears for the respondent, submits that eight weeks is an inordinately long period of time, we deem it appropriate to allow the request with the specific direction that no further extension would be granted.

In view of the order passed today, this contempt case does not survive for consideration.

Needless to say, should any further occasion arise, the order passed today would not inhibit the petitioner from re-approaching this Court.
