concerned from Police Station Samaypur Badli, Delhi. 6.
Brief facts of the case are that the marriage between petitioner no. 1 and respondent no. 2 had been solemnized at New Delhi on 31.05.2022, in accordance with Hindu rites and ceremonies. No child was born out of the said wedlock. It is stated that various differences, disputes and issues had arisen between the petitioners and respondent no. 2. Upon a complaint by respondent no. 2, the present FIR came to be registered against the petitioners. It is stated that with the intervention of the family and friends, the parties have now amicably settled their dispute before Counselling Cell, Family Court, North-East District, Delhi on 04.04.2024. 7.
On a query made by this Court, respondent no. 2 who has been identified by the concerned IO, has categorically stated that she has entered into compromise out of her own free will and without any pressure, coercion or threat. Therefore, she has no objection if the present FIR is quashed. The statement of the parties to the said effect had been recorded by the learned Joint Registrar (Judicial) on 30.04.2025.
8.
In view of the above, that the parties have amicably resolved their differences of their own free will, and without any coercion, no useful purpose will be served by continuing the proceedings, rather the same would create further acrimony between them. It would thus be in the interest of justice to quash the abovementioned FIR and the proceedings pursuant thereto. There is no legal impediment in quashing the FIR in question. 9.
Accordingly, FIR bearing No. 0758/2023, registered at Police Station Samaypur Badli, Delhi, for the offences punishable under Sections 498A/406/34 of IPC and all consequential proceedings emanating therefrom are quashed.
