This application has been filed seeking exemption from filing duly notarised affidavits and affixing requisite court fee. Binding the deponent of the affidavit to the contents of the application, the exemption is granted.

Court fee shall be deposited online with the concerned authority within one week and physical stamp be filed within 72 hours from the date of resumption of regular functioning of the Court, as mandated in terms of Office Order dated April 04, 2020 issued by this Court. 3.
Application is disposed of.

This petition has been filed by the petitioners praying for a direction to the respondent no.2 to accept the application of the
petitioners for the solemnization of their marriage under the provision of the Special Marriage Act, 1954.

The learned counsel for the respondents, who appears on advance notice, submits that before the marriage of the petitioners to be solemnized under the Act, the process of verification of their residence needs to be carried out. She further submits that on 20.05.2020, the parties had, in fact, not appeared before the respondent no.2. 3.
The second submission of the respondents is refuted by the learned counsel for the petitioners.

Be that as it may, as the petitioners are contending that there is a danger to their lives as their marriage is inter-religion, the respondent no.2 through the SHO of the concerned Police Station is directed to conduct an inquiry into the residential status of the petitioner no.1 within a period of ten days from today. The petitioners shall report themselves before the respondent no.2 on 25.06.2020 at 11.00 a.m. In case the respondent no.2 has any objection on the solemnization of the marriage of the petitioners, he shall pass a speaking order on the same and communicate a copy of the order to the petitioners. 5.
The petition is disposed of in the above terms, with no order as to cost.
