O R D E R

By the present bail application, the applicant seeks extension of interim bail for a period three months in FIR No. RC-03(S)/2016/SC-III/ND dated 14.06.2016, registered at Police Station SC-III/ND, for offence under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860.

The applicant seeks extension of interim bail which was granted by this Court by the order dated 10.01.2025. 3.

This Court had directed release of the applicant on interim bail noting that the applicant is in custody for more than seven years and has not been enlarged on bail even once. 4.

It was also noted that the applicant has elderly and ailing parents and that he also has to prepare for his defence. 5.

The extension of interim bail is sought stating that the defence witnesses are still being examined.

The learned senior counsel for the applicant submits that only one defence witness remains to be examined. 8.

He submits that the applicant has not taken any unwarranted adjournment from the learned Trial Court and has always appeared before the Court as and when directed. 9.

The learned senior counsel for the CBI submits that the trial has been prolonged at the instance of the applicant. 10.

He submits that the applicant has filed multiple applications before the learned Trial Court, which is causing delay in conclusion of the trial.

Be that as it may, purely on humanitarian grounds, the interim bail granted by this Court to the applicant by order dated 10.01.2025, is extended for a further period of two weeks, on the same terms and conditions as imposed by this Court by order dated 10.01.2025.

The applicant is directed to surrender on or before 29.04.2025.

The learned Trial Court is requested to expedite the conclusion of trial.
