O R D E R

% 24.07.2020 Hearing has been conducted through Video Conferencing. Present writ petition has been filed praying for directions to the Respondents to make payment of wages to the prisoners w.e.f 20.06.2019, at the revised rates in terms of the Communication dated 20.06.2019 issued by Respondent No.1.

Mr. Sanjoy Ghose, Learned ASC appearing for the Respondents submits that an order has been passed by the Office of Director General (Prisons) on 23.07.2020 approving the grant of revised wages and the payments shall be made in terms thereof.

It is clear from a reading of the order that the convicts lodged in Delhi (Prisons) would be paid revised wages in terms of the Order passed on 20.06.2019, enhancing the wages. Order has been given effect from 20.06.2019 and accordingly the Arrears shall also be disbursed.

Additionally, 25% deduction from wages of the convicts meant for Victim Welfare Fund, has also been suspended till further Orders. Copy of the said Order dated 23.07.2020 will be filed during the course of the day. Order was shared by Mr. Ghose during the hearing and has been perused by learned counsel for the Petitioner. He submits that he is satisfied as the relief sought has been granted. In view of the above, no further orders are required to be passed in the present Petition.

Writ Petition is disposed of in the above terms along with the pending Application.
