O.M.P.(MISC.)(COMM.) 275/2024 By way of the present petition filed under section 29A of the Arbitration & Conciliation Act 1996, the petitioner seeks extension of the mandate of the learned Sole Arbitrator, who is seized of their disputes with the respondent.

From the record, it is seen that the learned Sole Arbitrator was appointed by consent of the parties; and entered upon reference on 05.04.2022. Thereafter, the parties granted consensual extension of the mandate which has since run-out on 02.04.2024. 3.

Mr. Uttam Datt, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that the matter is at the stage of final arguments and is listed tomorrow i.e. 06.04.2024.

Mr. Jayesh Unnikrishnan, learned counsel appears on behalf of the respondent on advance copy; accepts notice; and does not oppose the petition.

Upon a conspectus of the averments contained in the petition and the submissions made, the petition is allowed; and the mandate of the learned Sole Arbitrator is extended, as prayed-for, by 06 months from 03.04.2024. The gap in the mandate, and all proceedings conducted in the meantime, shall also stand validated and regularized. 7.

The petition is disposed-of.

Pending applications, if any, also stand disposed-of. 9.

The parties are permitted to orally communicate the gist of this order to the learned Sole Arbitrator.
