W.P.(CRL) 306/2018 Petitioners are seeking police protection as they apprehend coercive action from the father of petitioner no.1 who has been arrayed as respondent no.2. Petitioner nos.1 and 2 have inter-religion marriage; they married on 08.12.2017. They are present in person. They admit that they are living happily but they have fear at the hands of father of petitioner no.1 although no untoward incident has taken place after the marriage of the parties. They pray that police
protection be afforded to them.
Learned counsel for the State has put in appearance. SI Sandeep Kumar is present from police station Sarita Vihar. He informs this Court that beat constable of the area (the residence of the parties i.e. H-74, Ali Vihar, Sarita Vihar, New Delhi) will be sensitized of the situation and his mobile number shall be given to the petitioners as also that of the SHO. In case of any urgency or emergency the petitioners are at liberty to contact the aforenoted police officers. Needless to state that the petitioners will be granted necessary police protection in the case of need. With these directions petition disposed of.
