1. This is a petition filed under Section 29A of Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 seeking extension of mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal by a period of 1 year.
2. It is stated by the learned counsel for the petitioner that some of the witnesses have not been available and hence, the delay. 3. Issue notice.
4. Ms. Raghavan, learned counsel for the respondent accepts notice and has no objection to the petition being allowed.
5. For the reasons noted above, I am satisfied that sufficient cause has been shown. The petition is allowed and the mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal is extended by a period of one year from today to make and publish the award.
6. Since, the arbitral proceedings are pending since the year 2017, the Arbitrator is requested to conclude the proceedings within the time granted.
7. The period from 01.03.2025 till today stands regularised.
8. The petition is disposed of.
