The applications are disposed of.
W.P. (CRL.) 941/2020 3.
The petitioner has filed the present petition, inter alia, praying that he be granted parole for a period of eight weeks. 4.
The petitioner was convicted for an offence punishable under Section 302 of the IPC by an order dated 27.03.2019 and was sentenced to undergo rigorous imprisonment for life.
5.
The petitioner had preferred an appeal. However, the same was dismissed by the Division Bench of this Court on 26.07.2019. Thereafter, the petitioner had applied for parole. However, his application was dismissed. It is submitted that the same was dismissed as the petitioner's conduct in the jail was not satisfactory and he had been punished for the
same.
6.
The petitioner preferred the writ petition W.P.(CRL.) 256/2020 for seeking parole which was withdrawn on 03.03.2020 with liberty to file afresh after 26.03.2020.
7.
This Court is informed that such liberty was granted since in order to be eligible for parole, the petitioner's conduct in jail has to be satisfactory for a period of one year in case of any minor punishment has been imposed on him.
8.
In the present case, the petitioner was punished for misconduct on 26.03.2019 and the period of one year would elapse on 26.03.2020. 9.
In view of the above, this Court considers it apposite to direct that the present petition be considered as the petitioner's application for parole by the concerned authorities as expeditiously as possible and in any event within a period of two weeks from today.
10.
The concerned authorities shall communicate their decision to the petitioner within the aforesaid period.
11.
The petition is disposed of with the aforesaid directions. VIBHU BAKHRU, J JUNE 18, 2020 RK
