Present Public Interest Litigation has been filed seeking a direction to restrain members of Aam Aadmi Party from installing CCTV at places of their own choice.

The PWD has filed a counter affidavit in which it has been stated that as per Standard Operating Procedure dated 21st October 2021, the application for installation of new CCTV cameras can be made on the website of PWD through the link provided and PWD will analyse the feasibility of the proposal and once it is finalized, the team comprising:- (a) Representative of MLA/RWA/MA/House Owners (b) Representatives of Local Police (c) Representatives of PWD and (d) Installation Engineer, shall decide the place and the number of cameras to be installed. Keeping in view the aforesaid averments in the counter affidavit, this Court is of the view that the grievance raised by the petitioner is misplaced and erroneous. Accordingly, the present writ petition is dismissed.
