% 29.07.2020
1. The hearing was conducted through video conferencing.
2. The petitioners continue to be under police protection. The court is informed that respondent nos. 4 and 5 -- the parents of petitioner no.1, have met the petitioners in the Court premises, a few minutes ago; the parents have reconciled to the marriage of the petitioners. Since they were worried about their daughter‟s sudden disappearance, they had filed a habeas corpus petition which is pending before a Division Bench of this Court. However, now that they know that their daughter is safe and secure, they would not be pursuing it. They further submit that as concerned and caring parents they cannot be any threat to the life, limb and liberty of their own daughter. They state that the young couple have their best wishes and blessings.
Indeed, they propose to accord a civic reception to the young couple, when the pandemic restrictions are eased.
3. According to the parents, their daughter and her husband/petitioner no.2 will always be welcome at the parents‟ residence.
4. In view of the above, due police protection for the petitioners shall continue for another month.
5. The writ petition, alongwith pending application, is disposed-off in terms of the above.
6. The order be uploaded on the website forthwith. Copy of the order be also forwarded to the counsels through email. NAJMI WAZIRI, J JULY 29, 2020 AB
