The petitioners have filed this writ petition seeking a direction upon the respondent - Jawaharlal Nehru University ["JNU"] to constitute a Selection Committee to promote the petitioners to applicable posts under the Career Advancement Scheme ["CAS"], from the date on which they became eligible.

The petitioners are all members of the faculty of JNU, appointed between the years 2003 to 2013, seeking promotion under CAS relying upon the University Grants Commission Regulations, 2010 ["UGC Regulations, 2010"].

Although, respondent - JNU has filed a reply dated 07.12.2023 contesting the petitioners' entitlement for promotion under the 2010 Regulations, Mrs. Ginny J. Rautray, learned counsel for JNU, states, upon instructions, that the University is agreeable to the relief sought by the petitioners and will constitute a Selection Committee for this purpose within the next four weeks. She further states that the Selection Committee will take steps as expeditiously as possible and that the promotion of the petitioners will be in accordance with the UGC Regulations, 2010.

In view of the submissions made on behalf of respondent - JNU, Mr. Abhik Chimni, learned counsel for the petitioners, does not seek any further orders in the writ petition.

The writ petition is disposed of binding the University to the submissions recorded above. Pending applications, if any, are also disposed of.
