O R D E R

The present writ petition is filed by the petitioner under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking direction to the respondent for releasing the petitioner on parole for a period of 04 weeks. The petitioner is convicted for the offences under Sections 302/392/34 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860 ('IPC') in FIR No. 131/2010 registered at Police Station Pandav Nagar, Delhi. By the order on sentence, the petitioner was sentenced to rigorous imprisonment for life.

It is stated that the petitioner has spent (including the remission) more than 15 years in custody.

The application for grant of parole was filed by the petitioner on 20.02.2025 before the Competent Authority. It is the petitioner's grievance that the application has still not been decided.

submits that the application has already been forwarded to the competent authority. He submits that an appropriate order will be passed within 2-3 weeks.

In view of the above, this Court does not consider it apposite to pass any order at this stage.

The petition stands dismissed with liberty to the petitioner to file the petition afresh in case any grievance remains in future. 7.

The competent authority is requested to pass an order expeditiously.
