This is an application seeking extension of interim bail that was granted by an order dated 13.05.2020.

The applicant states that while on interim bail he had undergone a surgical procedure and he is currently admitted to the hospital for medical ailments.

Mr Amit Gupta, learned APP states that the surgical procedure as mentioned by the applicant is an elective procedure and, therefore, ought not to be considered for extension of interim bail. 6.
While the contentions advanced by Mr Gupta, are merited, this Court
considers it apposite to grant the benefit of doubt and accept the learned counsel's contention that he is currently suffering from certain medical ailments.

In view of the above, the interim bail granted to the applicant is extended for a further period of one week on the same terms and conditions as specified in the order dated 13.05.2020. The applicant shall surrender on or before the expiry of the said period. In the event, he is suffering from any medical ailments, the Jail Authorities are directed to make arrangements to provide the medical facilities available in the jail and to ensure that he is provided the necessary treatment.

It is clarified that no further application for extension of interim bail shall be entertained.

The application is disposed of.
